College Days :)

School Life
You graduate from your high school(of course with lots & lots of hard work, sacrifices ,scoldings from your teachers,parents,etc...etc..) and then you're finally in your college-a dream which you had been seeing ever since you first saw any Bollywood/Hollywood movie focusing on college life... Your parents are telling you how important it is to study and stay focused, but we all know what you are really looking forward to, having a good time after handling so much of pressure(12th.    :O )! College is definitely something you have to take serious, after all, your future depends on it, but you also need to have a good time!!

Um...College life is totally different from what they show in movies or the televisions( at least in my case it is!!).It has its own "rules & regulations"!!(And alas!! In our case I can only see rules & regulations!! :D ).Making tons of new friends from different backgrounds & states is also a fun.. It makes for some very interesting memories. :)

I've just stepped into this new phase of life(It has hardly been 6-7 months now..) and I've come across some of the phrases (In Hindi)  frequently used by students!!!

On being late (Obviously,no genuine reasons!! [;)]) :

 “Attendance ho gayi kya??”

“Ek page de na………. abey pen bhi to de, nahi to kisse likhunga…….”

On missing a morning class : ('Missing' most of the times means 'bunking') :

"koi subah kaise aa sakta hai……..” “wo bhi iss class ke liye ”

During the lecture:
(On being asked a question) :

“Yesss!!!! Sirrr…….The answer is
……..huuuummmmm……..aaaaaaaa………….”.

...................................“No sir…..I know the answer …….sir….”

Lab:
(Just 10-15 min before the lab begins):

“Expt. 2 likha??”

“last time tu aaya the kya?”"

“Karna kya hai??”(This is soo amazing na??)

“Yeh bhai…..merko pata hota to tere pass kyon aata……..”

“Areee tu to bura maan gaya …….chal dikha na…..bhau kyo kata
hai….”

Mid Semesters:
(On hearing the dates)

MSE's????......... ……Aree yaar…… ”

(On hearing the course)
Kya…….. abe MSE mein itna sara topic hai to final mein kya
hoga….

After MSE's:

“yaar pada tha….recall nahi kar paya…….chhod na ……. Canteen
chalega…” SAHI !!

 For attendance:
("When they see their names in the attendance review“)

"I was in the class, attendence bolna bhool gaya ”

“Oye usko thoda maska laga de list se tera naam hata dega……..”

 After exam:
“Yeh bhi syllabus mein thaa kya? Shitt…”

“kya bol raha hai yaar..aise karna tha kya”

“1st mein 3 marks…..2nd mein 0…….3rd mein 2…….
Gaya ……….

 VIVA (b4 exam):
“Aeee…….Akash…..terese kya kya poocha….mood kaisa hai..”

“Dekh Boss!! external bhi aadmi hai. Usko pata hai students ki ab tak
preparation nahi hui hai”

 Submission:
“Ye bhi chhapna hai kya?”

“kaat kaat ke likh le…kaon padhta hai”

“Iska bhi print-out lena hai kya?”

“Jai ho computer baba ki……jai ho Ctrl C – Ctrl V ki…….”

“Tujhe Sir ka sign aata hai kya?”

“Ye tune kya likha hai????”

(The best one)
“Jo word samajh mein aa raha hai woh likh, jo nahi samajh mein aa raha
hai uska drawing nikal”

“Phir bhi, kuch to idea hoga??”

” Maine uska likha hai, mera assignment check ho gaya, tu bhi wohi kar.”

Exam:
“Jo (mujhe) aata hai, woh (paper mein)aata nahi hai; jo nahi aata hai
woh NAHI aata hai” ..VERY VERY TRUE !!

“ye question 2 saal se nahi poochha hai yaar….to ab kya poochenge”

“ye last time hi poochha thaa……is baar nahi aana chahiye”

“tere paas is ke notes hai??”

“Neend aa rahi mujhe to…thodi der so jata hoo..utha diyo pakka”

“woh chapter… mark weightage 6 marks… (facial ex-pressions speaks
the story)”

“nahi samjha to rat le” – PERFECT ONE

“Ek aur din ka gap de dete to kya 3rd World War ho jata tha kya……….”

I AGREE !! !!.Thats what is called a college life…:)

Finding Happiness In Simplicity!!

How often do you enjoy a dinner with your family ? How often do you have a laugh over "simply stupid" matters? How often do you ride bicycle with your best friends ? How often do you take a walk in the woods ?
Do you spread out your arms and smile at the sky when it rains for the first time or have you ever enjoyed a warm sunshine sitting on a green grass listening to your favorite music or with your favorite novel ?

In this high paced running world,we have actually forgotten to find happiness in our everyday lives.I agree we are all busy people today..Kids with their school work,Teenagers-busy thinking about their future,People busy with their jobs...etc. etc..!! I DON'T say STOP WORKING...But Find happiness in simple everyday things like having a talk with your family members every night, sharing the interesting things of the day with your wife, asking your kids what all did they do today, calling up a friend whom you haven't been in contact since long, going to your nearest ice-cream parlour in cold winter months & having your favorite scoop there with friends & family, trying out a new recipe, sitting at the window side with a slow music and enjoying the cold breeze outside....
So,next time if you ever feel that you are fed up with your life, just spread out your arms below the open sky & say 'THANK YOU'..

IT WORKS MIRACLES :)

God Answers Your Prayers!!

GOD..The Generator.Operator & The Destroyer..But for we Indian's GOD means  much much more than these three simple English words. Many of us start our day remembering him , wishing that the day goes well & tension free..Although we know that problems are a part of our lives , yet we pray..We dont pray to demolish those problems but to give us the courage to face them. The author of "The Impossible is Possible" says,"The time spent in prayer is never a waste of time".It helps us to connect with our inner souls.I realize that many of you might be atheists but you at least have to agree that there is some universal power around us..AND we name this as GOD..
Believe me..Prayer creates miracles!!My own experience..I would like to share one with you that how God granted me the courage..

I passed my SSC from a good school in Ahmedabad with a very very good score without any external coaching..Thanks to the teachers there...
But you'll have to agree that however modest the person is ,he becomes a bit ,just a bit proud !!(a few exceptions of course). The same happened with me..No doubt, first when I saw my results,I had tears rolling down my cheeks but then , people are no less in developing that haughtiness in you. They praise you as if you are the first one to get such a good result... I decided to join one of the best schools of the city..I was very much sure that I'd get there..My name was 2nd in the merit list..(Again the same arrogance. ).I joined that school.Everyone was a genius there but it took me li'l bit of time to realize the same. And then this 'arrogance' had to be removed by someone by some means..It was our Chemistry proffesor who decided to teach me that THIS ATTITUDE OF MINE WON'T LEAD ME ANYWHERE!!

He used to ask me questions 'everyday' which seemed to me alien(I didn't like chem).Everyday I used to feel insulted & dejected.I hated going to school from then .Thursdays we had three lectures of his.I bunked my school every Thursday for weeks togther. I used to think "Where the hell I had come...Why did I leave my ex-school..." I used to pray to God everyday to give me a chance to leave that school..And when a person starts hating his everyday life, his overall performance obviously shrinks. The same was the case with me..We had our 1st tests in our school. In all the other subjects I had done fairly well but in Chemistry,I had passed by just 1 mark!!!How things change!!!

Then one day, by chance I was sitting on the first bench in his lecture..He entered the class.Believe me I was "frightened"!!I thought "Why the hell all the students are present today & why the hell didn't I come early  to find some comfortable place where I dont catch his attention?"But all in vain.As expected,he came up to me and said
"Pooja, you've changed!Dont u feel that?"
I asked "What kind of change positive or negative?"
"Human change according to me is always for betterment" was his reply.
I nodded.
He added "You have changed.Keep up this attitude. You'll excel in life"
This was enough to bring  my spirit up.
I started working , really really hard!! Results came. Was the 3rd ranker in my class with the second highest score in chemistry.Same class, same people, same faculty only one change ATTITUDE.A big jump indeed!!From 17th to 3rd..

I now believe it was his way  of teaching me the right attitude at the right time.He was a form of gift from God during my needy times. If like the rest he too had ignored my attitude,I dunno where I would have been today.I wouldn't be studying in one of the best engineering colleges of India. If God had listened to my prayers that day I would have never been able to prove myself.I would always have considered myself a loser.A big thank you to my teacher & of course GOD .
After that in both 11th & 12th standard I  always secured 2nd rank except once..(The same arrogance had once again dwelt in me..But,I realized it soon.So not a big problem).AND in my board exams I got my highest score in Chemistry i.e.95/100.
This is one of the reasons why we consider Teachers equivalent to God here in India. This might seem a very little example to you,but I consider it to be the turning point of my life.
So it's said..

If GOD answers to your prayers then HE's increasing your Faith, If HE delays then HE's Increasing your Patience, and If HE doesnt listen then HE knows you can handle it Perfectly!!!

Uttapams!

I was born in Bangalore,India & brought up in Ahmedabad,India..Till Class-8th I was the only gal in my class from south..So, whenever I used to take Idli's or Uttapams as my lunch to school I was the one to take the last bite..that, which my friends left as soon as they used to realize that the dabba was mine!!! But,I was no less!!Soon after that, I used to make agreements like I'll eat their maggi, pakodas etc. and only then they would get to "taste" my SI food.
It was only a few days ago that I learned to make Uttapams after getting inspired by the MASTER CHEF INDIA-3 winner,Shipra Khanna..I've uploaded some of the pics..Have a LOOK..:)

The Preparations!!!:)
Onions,Tomatoes,Capsicum, Chilies & Carrots..

Mashed Peas...

Ginger

And here I go...

Raw Tomatoes for the Chutney..

And finally I'm done!!!

Believe me...It tasted great!!!

I'VE GOT A REASON!!!

Am the kind of the girl whom people call typical...I dont think that's the word.I am different. & so is every individual!!!

  • I dont like to go to the canteen of our institute cause I believe that's the most crowded place..& when you've a chance to enjoy the lunch in peace which your mom has packed with utmost love why shouldn't u?? I just hate the smell of the food being prepared there!! I can see more number of people doing their assignments there rather than having their lunch...And that sight reminds me of my pending assignments..!!!!So,the best thing I do is ,I stop myself from going there...Now, is that what you call typical??

  • I prefer sleeping or watching television & movies rather than gaining that extra amount of calories by partying out with people..I dont say that I dont attend them at all..but not very often like others...I love laughing & having fun with friends but then they say "Kitna hasti hai!!!"Ugh..Complaints...Complaints & Complaints!!!!

  • I dont like the Harry Potter series..Neither do I like the Twilight..I dont like Hp 'cause its full to fiction..& I dont believe in magics..And the Twilight  damn boring..If I hadnt had a sleep since days, only then I dare to watch it..!!!My Life,My choices..Whats typical about that??

  • I love talking to people..Even "sincere looking" strangers...& then I love to debate & people say..."Jhagadna Chalu"..!!!!

But this is my life & am not gonna change for anyone!!!!!!
